Fly Fishing Schools

For decades, 530 Outfitters has been teaching the art of fly fishing through our dedicated school programs. Designed to introduce and elevate every angler's abilities, our classes are a testament to our commitment. We take pride in our patience and willingness to share the wealth of knowledge we've accumulated. With years of on-the-water guiding and instructional experience, we've encountered diverse situations that have challenged our teaching abilities, sparking excitement to enhance our skills as instructors. Our schools are conducted on the water, allowing us to apply what you will learn in practical situations. Allow us to guide you on the journey of learning how to fly fish or assist you in reaching the next level of your fly fishing abilities

The Mt Shasta ½ Day Fly Fishing School-

This 4-hour course is the perfect class for those wanting to learn the basics of fly fishing while visiting the area. This short class complements the busy vacationer's schedule and can be fitted into a day packed with other activities like hiking, mountain biking, or paddling. We cover casting, proper gear selection, and knot tying. In fly fishing, the cast is commonly referred to as the poetry of the sport. The proper selection of technique and flies is how we capture the attention of the fish, and the knots are how we stay connected.
